Ingredients

1 1/2 cups softened butter
1 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
Various Colourful Jams

1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
3/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon milk

How 2

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Cream the butter and sugar until smooth. Mix in the 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract. Slowly incorporate the flour until the dough comes together.
Roll the dough into balls about 1 1/2 inches, and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Make a small hole in the center of each ball, using your thumb or any shaped object, and fill the hole with your favourite jams that have been filling the cupboards shelves for almost ever. (they last a long time and that is why they are called preserves, they preserve the cupboard from going bare!
Bake for about 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly browned. Once removed allow to cool on the on the baking tray while you make the glaze or melt some white chocolate....... mix the confectioners' sugar the 3/4 teaspoon almond extract, and milk until smooth and then Drizzle lightly all over the warm cookies.
