What do you want to know
Do you know why Cranberries are so sour even when ripe?
They contain a high level of Tannins (which is why cranberries are are so effective against urinary tract infections, but I digress...) Well most fruit relies on animals to be the seed carrier, the sweet fruit gets eaten and the seeds dispersed by the animal. In the case of the cranberry it grows on stream and river banks and so the seeds are dispersed by the running water. The fruit has no need to become sweet.
Did you know that an average ear of Corn has 800 kernels?
Each kernel contains a huge storehouse of wonderful nutrients for your body. Carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, minerals and fibre! High in a B Vitamin called Thiamin which is important for your nervous system, Niacin which regulates cholestoral, as well being a rich source of Folate and Phospherous. The yellow colour of corn is another indication of other wonders within. Carotenoids Lutein and Zeaxanthin are antioxidants that are important and unique in maintaining a supersensitive area of the eye called the Macula along with all of the other cancer fighting properties that are within antioxidants. The Macula is the part that gives us the ability to see small print and to focus on small objects.
Did you know what Hippocrates, the man who is credited with being the father of Western medicine declared?
"Let food be your medicine and your medicine be your food"
How insightful he was, when you look at all of the food magazines and health magazines and many books of today. They all refer to the varying amounts of Vitamins, minerals and especially the Anioxidants and medicinal qualities of the vegetables, fruits, cereals and pulses that we eat.
So ask us your question and we will try to answer it.
