The Ingredients and Stuff
Cookie press any design or designs
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup butter
3 ounces soft cream cheese
1 cup white sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (increase if you want a strong vanilla flavour)
1 teaspoon orange zest (increase if you want a tangy orange flavour)
How 2
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together the flour, salt, and cinnamon and leave to one side.
In a medium bowl, take the butter and cream cheese and cream together once you have your creamy mix add the sugar and your egg yolk. (Keep the egg white and make a meringue)
Beat the ingredients until light and fluffy and then stir in the vanilla and orange zest.
Now gently blend in the dry ingredients until everything is well mixed and you have a dough ball.
Using a cookie press or a dough bag with shaped nozzle form your cookies and lay out on an ungreased baking tray or cookie sheet.
Bake for about 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the cookies are golden brown on the peaks and on the bottoms. Remove from cookie sheets at once to cool on wire racks.
Now you can dust with Icing sugar, dip in white melted chocolate, dark melted chocolate, blob with marmalade or eat as they are.......... Enjoy.
