Disappearing Chockie Chip Cookies
Makes about 36 cookies or even 60 mini cookies
Ingredients
1/2 cup of butter
1/4 cup of lard
1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
6 ounces chocolate chips
1 cup coarsely chopped hazelnuts (optional) If you do not like nuts then just add another 3 ounces of chocolate chips!
Directions
Heat oven to 375 degrees F. (if you have an oven thermometer use it)
Combine butter, lard, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Using an electric mixer if you have one beat at medium speed until well blended.
Add and beat in the egg and then combine the flour, salt and baking soda.
Make sure everything is blended and then add your chocolate chips and nuts stirring them in to gt an even amount throughout the mix.
Using a tablespoon drop the mixture onto an ungreased baking tray about 3 inches apart.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies, or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet on a cooling rack.
By now the smell of baking will have attracted the household occupants and as you remove the cookies to a rack for cooling you will notice that there are not as many as you thought you had made and as you stand back pondering the universe, and the effect chocolate chip cookies have, you will note the rest of them vanishing into the mouths of the children and adults alike..
