Ingredients

1 1/2 cups butter
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
2 medium eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon salt

How 2

Melt the butter in a large pan on the stove, and cool.
Add sugar, eggs, molasses and beat well.
In a separate bowl, sift all the dry ingredients together and then add to the pan and mix very well.
Chill for at least 3 hours or preferably overnight.
Form the dough into walnut-size balls and Roll in granulated sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 8-10 minutes. (If you want chewy biscuits go for 8 minutes as the longer you cook the darker they become and crisper).
Store in an airtight container to keep from getting overly crisp.
